Abstract
There are not enough archaeological data to interpret it in connection with Koguryo residents in the Jungwon region. But it has been confirmed that the Jungwon region was occupied by Koguryo through and the SamgukSagi. Therefore, in this paper, the archarological meaning of Koguryo stone chambered tomb in the Jungwon region is to be considered.
The tombs to be analyzed in this study are stone chamber tombs built in the Koguryo style or where Koguryo-style earthenware was buried in the Bukhangang and Namhan River basins and the inland area in southern Gyeonggi-do, built between the end of the 5th and the beginning of the 6th century. It will be analyzed that tombs are evidence of the lives of the people of Koguryo, and analyzed on the premise that there is a strong conservative tendency to preserve the tradition.
As a result, stone chambered tombs in the Jungwon region were constructed with in the Koguryo style, the Jungwon style, or the Koguryo and the Jungwon style together, or the non-Koguryo style was also used. Based on Koguryo-style earthenware and tomb construction methods, Koguryeo stone chamber tombs in Jungwon religion are subdivided into nine types. And each type of tomb in the Jungwon region can be given archaeological meaning in that it provides clues about the composition of residents, the route to the south of Koguryo, and the timing of their advance into the Jungwon region.
